As a pharmacist, my approach is simple: I’m here to solve problems and make life easier for both my clients and their animals. Pharmacists are some of the most accessible healthcare providers, and we offer patient-specific solutions tailored to even the most difficult cases. For example, anyone who has tried to pill a cat would much rather rub cream on their ear, right? That’s where we come in, formulating transdermal creams for those “challenging” patients. Or perhaps you’ve been struggling to heal a sore on your sport horse. We can compound a topical antibiotic ointment that provides deeper wound penetration, targets the specific bacteria causing the infection, and creates a protective barrier to reduce irritation and pain. Whatever the issue, we’re here to help make life a little better and a little easier for both you and your animals.

Background and Experience

I grew up moving around the country as a military kid, but my summers were always spent with my “Papa Pete” in Louisiana, where I learned about horsemanship and competed in rodeo steer wrestling. After high school, I attended the University of Kentucky for both my undergraduate studies and my doctorate in pharmacy, graduating in 2009. Following graduation, I served five years in the United States Air Force before returning to Kentucky in 2014. Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of working in a wide range of pharmacy settings, from retail and inpatient care to home infusion, trauma/ED, and specialty pharmacy, often in leadership roles. One of my most formative experiences was during my pharmacy school rotations when I trained under Anne Gresham, the founder of Doc Lane’s Vet Pharmacy. We kept in touch over the years, and when she retired, I had the incredible opportunity to carry on the legacy she built.

Why Veterinary Pharmacy?

Of all the pharmacy settings I’ve worked in, veterinary pharmacy is where I find the most fulfillment. The unique challenges that come with compounding veterinary medications allow me to use the full range of skills I’ve developed over the years. There’s something deeply satisfying about solving tough problems, and when you add the opportunity to help animals, it’s a win-win.

Outside of the Pharmacy

When I’m not in the pharmacy, my two young kids, Lincoln and Olivia, keep me on my toes. I’m also a huge college football fan—tailgating and entertaining are some of my favorite pastimes. And when I can carve out a little time for myself, you’ll usually find me tinkering with cars, trucks, or tackling house projects. I like to think my constant projects keep me out of more trouble than they cause!
